Introducing INSTALL Minnesota Floorcovering Professionals

The region’s only comprehensive floor covering training and certification program has changed its name from INSTALL Twin Cities to INSTALL Minnesota. INSTALL Minnesota is the local affiliate of the International Standards and Training Alliance, which is North America’s only four-year training and certification program for floor covering professionals. Nearly 100 flooring industry mills, manufacturers, consultants, and organizations partner with INSTALL, so that the industry’s best technical and education experts from these groups can review and advise on the curriculum from which INSTALL professionals are taught.

Locally, those professionals are members of Carpenters Local 596. For several years, the local INSTALL program was named INSTALL Twin Cities, meant to reflect the location of the main training center (St. Paul) and the primary coverage area of local INSTALL contractors. However, as more and more members of the commercial and residential construction community become familiar with the type of quality installations delivered by INSTALL-trained mechanics, that coverage area has steadily increased.

“To reflect that growth, we believe it is more appropriate to work under the name of INSTALL Minnesota,” said INSTALL Minnesota Coordinator, Terry Nali. “The INSTALL program is active throughout Minnesota, including Rochester and Duluth.”

In addition to offering both apprentices and existing floor covering professional the best training available in the industry, INSTALL Minnesota has a comprehensive specifier education program, with a number of resources to help area construction professionals understand the importance of a proper flooring installation.
